This is getting considerable interest from a number of liability insurers in view of the substantial savings they can make.
 
The deal is simple – it’s a straight swap: metal for injury claims. LawAlliance members that are able to pass over control of bent metal claims to insurers would get either a larger fee than is available now (if it’s just bent metal) or the standard IR:BICS fixed fee if there was an injury claim attached, PLUS they would get from the insurer at least one (maybe two) insurer captured injury claim to run under the scheme. The swap is worth it for insurers in view of the savings they can achieve through their own hire and repair arrangements.
 
This of course applies to liability admitted claims and we would want very fast liability decisions from insurers. Your client would get an equivalent car, and you would get free claims with guaranteed payment of your costs.
 
InterResolve will shortly be contacting members with RTA practices to ascertain how many bent metal claims they may be interested in swapping for ‘free’ business. Once we know the numbers we can get back to insurers to try and tie down the deal, agree fee rates etc.
