Your Injury
If you have not already done so, we strongly recommend you seek immediate medical advice from your GP.
Free Private Medical Care
Under the InterResolve scheme, you may be entitled to free private medical care paid for by the insurer dealing with your claim. Please ask InterResolve for further information.
Your Compensation
If someone was at fault for your accident you will be entitled to compensation for pain and suffering and loss of amenity – both past and future. The LawAlliance lawyer provided through the InterResolve scheme will advise you on your entitlement (see Legal Advice below).
Legal Advice for You
Under the InterResolve scheme you will ALWAYS get free independent legal advice from a specialist injury lawyer who is a member of LawAlliance.
This way you are always properly advised but legal formalities and delays are reduced wherever they can be.
- If your claim is accepted, you will get advice on the amount of compensation you are entitled to
- In all other cases you will get a member of LawAlliance to review and argue your case for compensation to be paid to you
This way you are always properly advised but legal formalities and delays are reduced wherever they can be.
Your Resolver
As well as legal advice you will also get a neutral and independent mediator from InterResolve (your resolver) who will discuss your claim with you and the insurer on the other side to resolve any outstanding issues and get any compensation due to you paid without delays and unnecessary formalities.
Loss of Earnings
If you lose any of your wages or salary as a result of your accident, you can claim them back as part of your injury claim. Please:
Keep a diary of all the dates that you are unable to work.
Provide us with details of your employer or, if self-employed, your accountants.

Other Losses
In addition to the above, if you have lost or damaged any items in your accident such as clothing and other personal items then you can claim for their repair or replacement. This can include taxi rides, medication and any other expenses you have to pay for as a result of your accident. Please:
If your accident involved your car
- Do not throw away damaged clothing in case the Insurance company wishes to inspect it.
- Keep any receipts for any replacement items purchased and other expenses.
- Make sure you provide us with your National Insurance number
- If you were wearing a crash helmet during the accident, it is strongly recommended that in any event that you replace this whether it appears to be damaged or not.
If your accident involved your car
- The car repairs and replacement will be taken care of.
- As well as damage to your vehicle you may be able to make a claim for any loss of value caused by the accident - this depends on the age, ownership and make of your vehicle.
State Benefits
If, as a result of your accident, you are claiming benefits while you are off work such as Statutory Sick Pay, Invalidity Benefit and Income Support, then the Department of Social Security will provide a certificate to show how much has been paid to you. If you are paid compensation then the government requires that this amount be deducted form your compensation.
Medical Reports
A doctor will be in contact with you, as a medical report will be needed for your claim. Please have ready:
- Your National Insurance Number
- Your Employer Details
- Your GP Details
- Details of any treatment you have received to date
Contacting You
InterResolve will contact you by telephone, email, post and SMS. Whilst we appreciate not everyone has access to a computer, InterResolve encourages the use of email wherever possible as it speeds up the process of resolving your claim even more. If any of your details change at anytime please let InterResolve know. If you don’t then it could cause a delay with your claim.
