Will I always get independent legal advice?

Yes, from specialist injury solicitors.

Is InterResolve completely independent?

Yes, the InterResolve Group is a neutral mediation body accredited by the UK Civil
Mediation Council (www.civilmediation.org).

What is mediation?

A process where both sides get together and discuss issues instead of arguing for years and ending up in lengthy court proceedings.

How long will it take to settle my injury claim?

This depends on the nature of your injury, but usually InterResolve can now get your claim settled in months, not years.

How are InterResolve’s fees paid?

As with the independent legal costs, the insurer will also pay our fees as part of this special scheme.

Why will insurers and lawyers now use mediation instead of lengthy court proceedings?

Many now recognise the benefits. They are also now required to do this by the courts themselves. The court is still there as a last resort if you need it.

What happens if I decide to cancel?

As is your statutuory right, you are entitled to a cooling off period of 14 days from the date you sign your consent form. Cancellations within 14 days will be without any consequence to you and you will incur no cost whatsoever. However, beyond this period, should you choose to leave the scheme and pursue your claim elsewhere, abandon your claim or if you provide us with untruthful or misleading information, in some circumstances you may be liable for certain costs. These costs may include charges paid to advertisers, retailers, accident  or claims management companies, costs relating to finance, insurance and for any work that we have carried out on your behalf. Potential liabilities will vary in individual cases and can be provided for your case on request.
