Most motor insurers have successful third party intervention schemes. However, there will always be a percentage of claimants that reject the insurers approach, leaking to the conventional legal process and eventually returning to the insurer as a represented claimant. InterResolve works with insurers’ third party intervention teams to provide a viable, independent, bespoke and cost-effective mediation based alternative for claimants who require independent assistance and who are unwilling to settle directly with the fault insurer. To date, InterResolve have converted around 60% of claims where claimants had refused to settle directly with insurers.
Following referral to InterResolve, one of our trained mediators will contact the claimant to ascertain the claimant’s specific requirements. The Resolver will then support the claimant throughout our efficient process and arrange the appropriate medical care and claims valuation assessment as agreed by the claimant and insurer, with the overriding aim being to safely settle genuine claims with minimal delay and cost for both claimant and insurer. All fees are pre-agreed and contracted, providing certainty to the insurer who is only charged a fee by InterResolve where a settlement is achieved and value is added.
InterResolve is saving individual insurers hundreds of thousands of pounds per year, with average savings of over £1,000 per claim in third party legal costs. Claimants get fair damages, which are independently assessed.

InterResolve TP+® reduces claims leakage where claimants don’t want to settle directly with a third party insurer, saving in excess of £1,000 per claim for the Insurer, and InterResolve only charges a fee where the InterResolve TP+® scheme adds value. In addition to direct cost savings InterResolve TP+® boosts existing in-house third party assistance and retention rates by offering an independent alternative for third party claimants while helping insurers comply with their TCF obligations. The scheme includes provisions to ensure that existing Insurer Intervention programmes are not impacted and only claims that would have been lost to a solicitor are processed under the scheme.
Claims are run electronically using the InterResolve Portal which simplifies the claims process and reduces the input required from claims handlers. Using the portal, claims can be securely referred and their progress tracked and monitored. Users can also view claims evidence and documentation, communicate directly with InterResolve, make and adjust case reserves or settlement offers as appropriate and get priority access for management staff. The portal is secure and accessible from any internet browser. Integration and web services to reduce data entry are also available.

InterResolve provides bespoke Management Information at a frequency agreed with insurers. The MI can include conversion and early settlement rates, average settlement times, cost savings against agreed benchmarks and general volumes & statistics (to be specified and agreed) to enable insurers to closely track our progress.

Claimants are treated fairly and ethically and offered a choice, allowing claimants to avoid the usual delays and frustrations of an extended legal process and reach settlement faster. Claimants are provided medical care, free independent damages assessment, legal advice (where required) and early mediated settlements.
Claimants are also offered, where preferred, an almost paperless journey. Documentation can be signed using electronic signatures, and claimants can track the progress of their claims online.

InterResolve TP+® is designed for the vast majority of small claims that do not require an extensive medical intervention or legal support. More complex claims including those involving extensive, multi-orthopedic, head or catastrophic injuries will be referred to a solicitor for representation by agreement with the claimant and insurer.
