Award Judges Recognise InterResolve Claims Contribution With Second Accolade
InterResolve has won the prestigious Claims Initiative of the Year at the Insurance Times Awards for the second year in a row. The 2007 Award recognised the impact of InterResolve’s Legacy Scheme in resolving disputed liability claims.
The Insurance Times’ judging panel, made up of the leading industry experts, praised InterResolve by saying, “This initiative clearly benefits the customer and it has plugged in effectively to tackle an important issue within the insurance industry.”
The Scheme, designed to resolve disputed liability claims over 6 months old, was successfully piloted by AXA Insurance in the summer, uses telephone mediation to settle intractable claims, at substantially less cost than conventional mediation. During the pilot a settlement rate of 88% was achieved with claims being settled in an average of 7 weeks.
Peter Ashdown-Barr, Chief Executive of InterResolve, speaking at the Awards’ ceremony in December at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, said: “We are delighted to have won this Award for a second time. We have something that we think is quite different and we think what we are offering to the insurance world is very valuable.”
In 2006, InterResolve won its first Award for the Bodily Injury Claims Scheme, developed to provide faster and more cost effective resolution of injury claims.
